The Game was once one of the core members of the Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit collective. While Game and 50 Cent had strong music chemistry, the world would soon learn it was orchestrated. Originally, The Game was signed by Dr. Dre to Aftermath. However, after two years on the label, Game and 50 Cent were paired.
The Game often namedropped other artists in his music. However, on his first album, Game only does this to show unity among the ranks. Often, The Game would shout out the G-Unit members, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and Tony Yayo. In addition, The Game would shout out Eminem, due to them both being signed to Aftermath. With Eminem, his deal was Aftermath/Interscope. During Game’s promo run for Drillmatic, he had choice words about Eminem. In turn, fans predicted Game losing a battle with Em.
The Game was reported to have an Eminem diss record on Drillmatic. With “The Black Slim Shady,” The Game came for Eminem’s entire existence. On the song, Game provided an inadvertent end of “Stan,” encountering the brother, Matthew, driving an Uber. As a result, The Game led to Matthew’s demise, taking the Starter cap signed by Eminem. Prior to this, Matthew admitted to not being an Eminem fan. In other lyrics, Game also came for Hailie, called him an appropriator, and got into Eminem’s mother giving birth to him as a teen. To cap it off, The Game said Eminem is in no one’s top five. After that, Game said Eminem gets no club or radio play.
