This summer, D’NME, of 9th Law Music, released his Guns & Roses mixtape, which the popular New York City figure, DJ Whiteowl, hosted. Representing Toronto, D’NME was a breath of fresh air, in a hip hop mixtape game dominated by “trap music.” D’NME has established himself as one of the biggest rising artists in the game.

Guns & Roses has been one of the most-successful independent mixtapes released this year, going gold on DatPiff.com. D’NME spoke on this with Hip Hop Vibe, saying he felt his success was a blessing from God. In addition to its overall success, D’NME has enjoyed the success from the songs released from the mixtape.

Containing such hits as “The Stars,” D’NME has proven there is hope for hip hop, as he is one of the most-impressive new artists. Other standouts on the mixtape include “Against the Wall,” featuring K.D.B. D’NME’s mixtape was one of the biggest of the summer and is one definitely worth checking out.

Hip Hop Vibe’s Rating: 8/10
