With this year being his official debut year, 2 Chainz is easily the best-known new artist of 2012. 2 Chainz rose to the top of the game in 2011 through several mixtape appearances. Initially known to the world as Tity Boi, from DTP’s Playaz Circle, 2 Chainz was able to completely reinvent himself.
From 2011 to the present day, 2 Chainz has tracks with DJ Drama, Jadakiss, Young Jeezy, and many other big names in the game. Learning from Ludacris, 2 Chainz also entered his own joint venture deal with Def Jam. The first official release from this new deal was “No Lie” with Drake, which was the lead single from his debut album.
Based on a T.R.U. Story was released back in August, topping the charts. “No Lie” has dominated the charts for some time. As fall has set in, the single has begun to slip, but is still setting records for 2 Chainz. Via Tumblr, Def Jam recently revealed 2 Chainz’ single with Drake has gone platinum.
