24-year-old Deion Patterson arrested after Atlanta shooting
On Wednesday, another shooting occurred in the United States, with this one being located in Atlanta. A man identified as Deion Patterson, who shot a woman that went on to pass away, as a result of their injuries. Five victims were shot in total, and all women, aged 25, 39, 39, 56 and 71. The 39-year-old was who passed. Three are now in critical condition. Therefore, Patterson shortly carjacked a nearby victim, to flee the scene, in the midtown Atlanta area.
Shortly after the incident, Police in Atlanta began a massive hunt for Patterson, all afternoon. As a result, he was finally arrested just before 8 p.m. on Killarney Drive in Cobb County, according to WSB-TV 2. This information was confirmed by the City of Atlanta.
Atlanta police initially released several photos of Patterson, to help the public assist them in his arrest. He was wearing a black and grey hoodie, and was also carrying a bag.
More information has since been revealed regarding Patterson, amid his eventual arrest. He initially jointed the U.S. Coast Guard in July 2018 and served as an Electrician’s Mate Second Class. However, Patterson was later discharged from active duty, in January 2023.
