42 Dugg released from prison after serving 17 months for gun possession case

42 Dugg released after 17-month prison sentence

CMG artist 42 Dugg is now a free man again, after serving a 17-month prison sentence. This was due to a gun possession case in 2022, in which he turned himself in, after months of not doing so. Furthermore, this occurred supposedly due to the Detroit native being confused about him not being required to turn himself in.

Moreover, per TMZ, 42 Dugg was also met outside of this Georgia prison by Yo Gotti, who signed him to CMG in 2021. Dugg initially began his sentence in West Virginia. Gotti initially offered any lawyer $2 million to get Dugg out, as Dugg was also said to have been going through inhumane conditions in the prison.

Dugg has been one of the hottest rising artists out of Detroit since 2021, as that was his breakout year. At the time, he gained a huge buzz for his “Maybach” single with Future, which appeared on his “Free Dem Boyz mixtape. He also had a joint album with EST Gee in 2022, which was “Last Ones Left.” In addition to this, Dugg appeared on several records on CMG’s new Gangsta Art 2” album, which was released in September. The 4-date Gangsta Art Tour is also kicking off next month.
