50 Cent says Eminem turned down World Cup performance

Last month, the Lionel Messi and Argentina defeated France in an ecstatic match, to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup. This was held in Qatar, as the tournament featured plenty of exciting moments. Many also saw this World Cup as solidifying Messi as the greatest soccer player of all-time.

Davido, Aisha, Ozuna, Gims, Nora Fathi, Balqees, Rahma Riad and Manal were also among the performers, in Qatar. According to 50 Cent, Eminem was also sought after, by the World Cup. In a recent interview on Big Boy’s NeighborhoodEm rejected an $8 million offer to perform at the event. That came after Eminem previously performed at the Super Bowl, in February, with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

“Because of the Super Bowl, I got an inquiry about the World Cup,” 50 explained. “They had a budget of $9 million for it. So they was gonna give— I would have took one, Big. Then the other eight would have been for Em.”

When 50 told Eminem’s manager Peter Rosenberg about the situation, that eventually led to them deciding not to move forward with that performance.

“I called and spoke to Paul and everybody around him,” 50 said. “They was like, ‘He’s not gonna do it.’”

However, 50 and Eminem are working on a series based on Em’s 2002 “8 Mile” film. This comes as 50 premiered season 2 of “BMF” on Friday.
