Last week, Adele finally released her long-awaited “30“ album. This is the singer’s first album since 2015’s “25,” and is heading for number one, on the Billboard 200 chart. It’s first week sales are crushing the competition right now though, as it has reportedly already sold over 660,000 units, per Chart Data.
This first week debut by Adele, has now passed Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy,” as the biggest debut for an album, this year. This comes in the first four days of 30’s release, in the US. By the end of the week, the album is expected to sell 833,000 units.
Drake’s CLB is reported to sell 53,000 units this week, and be placed at the third spot, on the Billboard 200. Taylor Swift’s “Red (Taylor’s Version),” is on its way to being at number two, with 165,000 units, in its second week, of its release.
Adele’s 30 contained 12 tracks, as it was led by the chart-topping “Easy On Me” single. That was also her first single, since 2015. The only featured artist on 30, was Erroll Garner.
