Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut studio album, ‘Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon‘ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this weekend as it was the biggest posthumous No. 1 debut since Michael Jackson in 2009. Smoke’s project accumulated over 248,000 units in its first week. This also came after the four suspects involved in his killing were arrested last week and charged with murder. The death penalty is also on the table.

Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon will continue its momentum this week as all 19 songs will be charting on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Chart Data. The first single was “Make It Rain” feat. Rowdy Rebel and was released on June 12. The album was originally scheduled to release that day but was delayed to July 3 out of respect to the ongoing protests in America which were addressing police brutality and racism.

Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon also contained features by Roddy Ricch, Future, DaBaby, Lil Baby, Swae Lee, Tyga Quavo, Executive Producer 50 Cent, and more. “For The Night” feat. Lil Baby and DaBaby appears to be picking up the most momentum. “Paranoia” feat. Gunna, Pusha T, and Young Thug was supposed to be on the album but was initially taken off due to changes being needed. Then, Thug came out in disapproval of Pusha on how he supposedly continued his Drake beef on his verse. This resulted in Pusha simply deciding to ask for the removal of his verse. The song is supposedly scheduled to be put on the deluxe edition for the album.
