Anthony Davis leaves Lakers-Cavs game with flu like symptoms

Anthony Davis faced much disrespect from the fans and media, alike, heading into this season. Through his career, AD has always been injury prone. However, when he arrived on the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster, Davis sought to prove his struggles were due to his team. While his first Laker season was a strange one, AD ended it with the championship. Ever since, Davis has dealt with continuous injuries, as the Lakers went from champions to a play-in team, to losing to AD’s former Pelicans to miss the play-in.

Anthony Davis was the top pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He was supposed to change the fortunes of the then-New Orleans Hornets. AD came into his own for the current New Orleans Pelicans, leading them to the 2015 and 2018 NBA Playoffs. Both seasons ended with playoff losses to the championship bound Golden State Warriors. As a result, Davis sought to go to a team with a higher chance of winning. Along the way, he saw guys like Giannis and Nikola Jokic usurp him as the NBA’s top big men.

Anthony Davis and the Lakers began this season 2-10. Since then, the Lakers are 8-2. Much of this is due to AD stepping up as the team’s best player. While LeBron James remains the leader, Anthony Davis is playing like an MVP. Over the last ten games, he has been the NBA’s best player. Due to LeBron’s history, any time the Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers play, it’s a big deal. Unfortunately, AD went down early, and he is due to miss the entire game, due to him having symptoms of the flu.
