On Tuesday, Kanye West took plenty of massive losses. adidas officially ended their partnership with him, which soon removed Ye from billionaire status. Kanye’s net worth is said to have dropped to $400 million, after losing adidas, Balenciaga, and other brand partnerships, as a result of his anti-Semitic comments on Twitter, as well as on Instagram and Drink Champs. Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams and Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics also left Ye’s Donda Sports agency.
Some people are still unfortunately sticking by Kanye, though, including former NFL star Wide Receiver, Antonio Brown. AB became president of Kanye’s Donda Sports brand, in February. Over the past several days, Brown stook up for Kanye, including on Tuesday night.
Brown put out a statement on Twitter, calling Kanye his brother, and that this is all “selective outrage.” He even tried to claim that companies have profited off of Black culture and ideas, in another backup plan to try to defend Kanye’s comments. AB did add that any discrimination is an injustice. From this point, tough, he says he wants to clarify statements taken “out of proportion.”
In addition to Kanye’s anti-Semitic comments, he’s also still getting backlash for speaking on the late George Floyd. He claimed that Floyd died of fentanyl use, and Officer Derek Chauvin’s knee wasn’t on Floyd’s neck, “like that.” The mother of Floyd’s daughter is also reportedly suing Kanye, for $250 million.
