Bankroll Freddie wants jewelry returned that was seized
Back in April, Quality Control Music’s Bankroll Freddie was indicted on various federal drugs and firearms charges. Hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and marijuana were seized by authorities. The Arkansas rapper has since been held in jail, in the aftermath of the arrest. 34 others were listed in the 61-count indictment, which includes Freddie’s father. They all face 16 charges, as they allegedly “voluntarily and intentionally conspired” to distribute various drugs.
Court documents obtained by AllHipHop added that Freddie is facing charges of “conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and at least 100 kilograms but less than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana and other drug and firearm offenses.” Authorities also state that they retrieved wire-tapped conversations of Freddie speaking on his drug trafficking.
However, Freddie is also attempting to retrieve the jewelry that authorities seized. However, prosecutors have filed a motion to deny the request. These were done by U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Jonathan D. Ross, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Julie Peters and Amanda Fields. Freddie’s team initially attempted to claim that authorities didn’t follow the 60-day deadline, to return the jewelry.
“This Court should deny [Freddie’s] request for return of property for multiple reasons,” stated the documents. “First, the charges in this case have been dismissed, and the property at issue relates to an ongoing matter pending in front of Judge Moody. This dispute should be decided in that case. Second, the property is an item sought for forfeiture in the ongoing case.
Back in July, Freddie also released his “From Trap To Rap 2” mixtape. This contained 13 songs, including collaborations with Lil Baby, Young Dolph, and Icewear Vezzo.
