Ben Simmons has become one of the most controversial players in the NBA. In the beginning, Simmons was one of the most hyped players in the league. The Philadelphia 76ers were confident they had their star of the future. As a result, some hyped Simmons as the next LeBron James. Now, Simmons is despised by Sixers’ fans, and is on the roster of the Brooklyn Nets.

Ben Simmons last played an NBA game during Game 7 of the second round, against the Atlanta Hawks. In 2021, Simmons and Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to the best record in the East. As a result, the Sixers were projected to at least make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, if not the NBA Finals. Instead, the Sixers were upset in Game 7 of the second round, at home, in a game where Simmons did not show up.

Ben Simmons was accused of quitting on the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7, vs. the Atlanta Hawks. Not only did he pass up open dunks, but he also continued to refuse shooting three pointers. After that, Doc Rivers called Ben Simmons out during the Game 7 post game. As a result, Simmons refused to show up for training camp. When the season began, Simmons sat out. Finally, Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, for James Harden, but still never played. Now, Simmons has sat down with former teammate, JJ Redick, where he spoke on his issues with Philly. Among other things, Ben said the Philadelphia fans always want something to complain over.
