Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” breaks opening day Spotify record
On Friday, Beyoncé released her highly anticipated country album, “Cowboy Carter.” 27 tracks were included, as well as the lead singles “16 Carriages” and the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Furthermore, Beyoncé also collaborated with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, and more.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album is already setting major streaming records. According to Chart Data, it has broken the record for biggest first day streams for any album on Spotify in 2024. Moreover, this record was set way before the album was even out for 24 hours. Cowboy Carter was initially announced in early February, on Super Bowl Sunday. That came after Bey put put her Verizon commercial that night, as well as releasing her 16 Carriages and Texas Hold ‘Em singles.
Furthermore, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album marks her second album released, in less than two years. Her previous project was “Renaissance” in 2022, which went on to become another Billboard 200 chart-topping album. Every solo studio album in her career has reached this mark. In 2023, Bey also posted massive numbers for her Renaissance World Tour, as that lasted from May-October.
