Lamor Whitehead arrested on charges of fraud, extortion, and more
Bishop Lamor Whitehead of Brooklyn has going viral for various reasons, in 2022. Back in July, he was robbed of his jewelry, during a live-streamed church service. Two gunmen were able to run off with these jewels, which were said to be worth over $400,000. These men were later arrested in September, and identified as Juwan Anderson and Say-Quan Pollack. They were charged with armed robbery.
Whitehead also trended in September, after being seen grabbing a woman by her neck, during a live stream. This is said to have happened after someone began recording the service. The woman wanted that person to be able to record, Whitehead invited her to the front of the service, and that’s when things got hectic.
However, Whitehead is now facing some serious legal woes of his own. On Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York announced that he has been arrested for multiple crimes. These include fraud, extortion, and making false statements. Whitehead even went on to led to the feds about these crimes.
“As we allege today, Whitehead carried out several duplicitous schemes in order to receive funds from his victims,” FBI Assistant Director Michael J. Driscoll explained “Additionally, when speaking with authorities, Whitehead consciously chose to mislead and lie to them. If you are willing to attempt to obtain funds through false promises or threats, the FBI will ensure that you are made to face the consequences for your actions in our criminal justice system.”
Whitehead is known to be very flashy, as he’s always wearing his icy jewelry. He even sports Dior suits, during his church services. Whitehead holds these services at Tomorrow International Ministries church, in the Canarsie area of Brooklyn.
