Biz Markie is still alive, but in hospice care, with significant brain damage

Tonight, there were reports of Biz Markie’s death. The famed hip hop icon has been battling health issues and he was reported dead, at 57. But, Biz Markie’s family released a statement, saying he is still alive.

Biz Markie is a hip hop pioneer responsible for more than most realize. Among others, he opened the door for Big Daddy Kane. A few years ago, Kane appeared on “Drink Champs,” explaining his history with Biz.

After the reports of Biz Markie’s death went viral, people began speaking out. On Twitter, there are claims of Biz suffering significant brain damage, and is in hospice. But, his family released a statement, saying he is surrounded by health professionals, and is still alive.
