Black men stage anti-violence march in Chicago

Recently, the question was asked about what is being done in Chicago to fix the violence. Truthfully, the answer is deeper than what most are willing to hear. What’s going on in Chicago is going on in multiple cities around the nation. However, Black men in Chicago have taken matters into their own hands to make a difference. A group of Black men teamed up with Chicago pastors to hold a march to speak out against the violence.

While some would argue that a march doesn’t do anything, it does something. Everything has to start somewhere. Acknowledging there is a problem is a huge first step in the right direction. From there, the people can build on this progress. However, all of the parties involved have to remain committed to improving the situation. Understandably, things will always take place that are negative, even in the best of neighborhoods.

Earlier this week, hundreds of Black men came together in Chicago. Alongside some of the community leaders and pastors, they took to the streets. This time, they were on the streets for the right reasons. In the name of unity, these men took the lead. They took to the streets to combat the violence that has plagued the city for decades. These men marched down the streets in an effort to begin to make the necessary changes.
