Boosie critiques fan obsession over Kendrick-Drake rap battle

Boosie Badazz recently voiced his concerns about the negative impacts of the high-profile rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. His comments highlight a broader issue within the culture of hip hop and its fanbase’s reaction to conflicts among artists.

Speaking on Twitter, Boosie expressed disbelief at how much attention the feud is getting. He is especially disappointed to see this from men. According to Boosie, they seem more intrigued by the rap battle than by other aspects of their lives. “I NEVER SEEN SO MANY MEN EXCITED TO SEE MEN TEARING EACH OTHER DOWN THRU MUSIC smh,” Boosie lamented on his social media. Thus, critiquing the overt enthusiasm over potentially career-damaging rivalries.

Not only is Boosie dismayed by the personal attacks involved, including mentions of family members and serious allegations, but also the fans hoping Drake’s career is ended. As a result, he had this to say:

“DO YALL REALLY WANT ONE OF THESE GREAT ARTIST CAREER DONE CAUSE THEY LOST A RAP BATTLE? DO YALL WANT ALL WHAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR HIP HOP OVERSHADOWED BY RAP BEEF?”

Boosie questioned the public’s appetite for drama at the expense of artistic legacy.

Boosie also warned of the real dangers such feuds can escalate into, beyond just words and music. The involvement of crews and other artists can turn artistic disputes into actual safety concerns, transforming personal tensions into public hazards.
