New York City has enjoyed a strong resurgence at the hands of newcomers, French Montana and A$AP Rocky, along with the veterans. Nas, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes are the legends who have kept New York hip hop going strong. Last year, Busta Rhymes signed with Cash Money Records and entered a ground-breaking deal with Google Play.

Busta Rhymes’ first album with Google Play was his free release, Year of the Dragon. The album has done very well, receiving the same type of attention as music from Rick Ross and DJ Khaled. With his new project out, Busta Rhymes has been making his media rounds. Shade 45 has been very welcoming of Busta Rhymes, as he has spoken on several shows.

DJ Whoo Kid spoke to Busta Rhymes and they discussed Year of the Dragon. In addition to discussing his new album, Busta Rhymes spoke on his work with Lil Wayne. Last year, Busta Rhymes was featured on Tha Carter IV. Months after recording with Lil Wayne, he would end up becoming his label-mate. With his album done, Busta Rhymes is expected to begin working on his Cash Money debut.
