Cam Newton talks signing $100 million extension with Panthers, a year before he won the MVP [VIDEO]

Cam Newton talks signing $100 million deal before winning MVP
Cam Newton was once the NFL’s most marketable player and then he was gone. Everything went downhill, after he led the Carolina Panthers to that 15-1 record. In addition, he won the MVP that year, and led the Panthers to the Super Bowl. They lost to the Denver Broncos. After that, everything began to implode. On his podcast, Cam Newton spoke on signing a $100 million extension before that season. He said the Panthers saved money on that deal.
Cam Newton helped build a winning culture with the Carolina Panthers. Leading up to that 2015 season, they marginally improved every year. However, even during that 15-1 year, many NFL fans saw flaws in how they played. As a result, they saw flaws in how they won. Somehow, Carolina managed to cover for it, until they reached the Super Bowl. There, many people noticed how Newton’s teammates did little to nothing to cover for him.
Cam Newton is currently a free agent and he’s likely to never play again. Personally, Newton believes it’s due to his style of hair. However, he’s doing well with his podcast. During his latest episode, Cam talked about how he signed the $100 million extension. He said the Panthers played that smart, signing him before the 2015 season started. Also, he said they saved money, because his demand would’ve been much higher, if they tried to do a deal after the Super Bowl run.
