Charlamagne Tha God is being sued over alleged 2001 sexual assault incident, involving 15-year-old girl

Charlamagne Tha God sued over alleged 2001 sexual assault

Charlamagne Tha God is known as one of the most legendary forces in radio, in hip-hop. Many know him for being a host on The Breakfast Club, which is still one of the hottest shows on the air, even after the recent departure of Angela Yee.

However, Charlamagne is now having legal issues from the past in his way. According to Radar Online, he is being sued for damages, due to a 2001 sexual assault incident. This stems from giving a 15-year-old girl, Jessica Reid, a spiked drink at a party. At the time, Charlamagne was 22. As a result, at that party, he supposedly let two other men sexually assault her, which he then proceeded to do, as well.

Documents state that Charlamagne engaged in “willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously [engaging] in penile/vaginal intercourse with a fifteen-year-old female child.” In 2001, he was initially facing a “charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the 2nd degree.”

Reid is also said to have remembered being in an ambulance, while in shock and hyperventilating. However, Charlamagne has denied these allegations, for many years. Reid’s DNA supposedly wasn’t found on his rape kit, in 2018. She also decided not to cooperate with authorities.

At this point, Reid is claiming that Charlamagne called her a groupie, and a liar. She is also hurt by seeing him on various large media platforms. His attorney, Michael Weinstein, has since denied the allegations.

“We are confident that Ms. Reid’s meritless civil lawsuit in which she represents herself will be promptly dismissed. This is the same sexual assault claim that was fully investigated and dismissed by authorities in South Carolina more than 21 years ago.”
