Damian Lillard is being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks
Damian Lillard has been playing lights out basketball ever since his 2021 return from injury. However, instead of building around him, the Portland Trail Blazers have dismantled their roster. As a result, the Blazers went from being a consistent 50 win playoff team to a near play-in team. That said, Dame formally made a trade request this summer. Most felt he’d eventually land with the Miami Heat. Out of nowhere, the Milwaukee Bucks completed a deal to land him.
Damian Lillard is one of the NBA’s best players and last season proved it. His stellar play, paired with the consistent losing in Portland had most believing Dame would leave. Meanwhile, Giannis has been quietly expressing his interest in the Milwaukee Bucks making some improvements. In addition, Giannis made subtle threats about leaving Milwaukee in free agency. This came after his previous vows to remain with the franchise for life.
Damian Lillard was said to want to go play for the Miami Heat. After their Finals run, the Heat needed one more piece. It looked like Dame was it. However, the Bucks put the deal together, giving up Jrue Holiday to make it happen. The Phoenix Suns were the third team involved, sending DeAndre Ayton to the Blazers, along with a first round pick. Also, Jusuf Nurkic is headed to the Suns. But, the part the fans want to see is the part where Giannis and Dame team up to make a duo in Milwaukee.
