Thursday officially marks the 26th-year anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G. being shot and killed in Los Angeles. B.I.G. had previously attended a VIBE party, earlier in the night. However, after B.I.G. left the event with his crew, he went on to be targeted in a drive-by shooting, as he succumbed to his injuries at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Today, many are paying tribute to B.I.G., including Diddy, on Instagram. Diddy initially signed B.I.G. to his Bad Boy Records label. As a result, they started a legendary run together. B.I.G. only released two studio albums, but both are regarded as classics. Those were “Ready To Die” and “Life After Death.”

“There will NEVER be another,” said Diddy on Instagram. The GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME. Today we celebrate and honor you king. Love and miss you!! 26 years ago the Notorious B.I.G. was killed over some bullsh*t. His spirit truly lives on forever and EVER!! We miss you BIG.”

This comes after an auction was held for 23 pairs of B.I.G. Air Jordan 13s. Therefore, those were initially supposed to be released in 2017, to celebrate B.I.G.’s 45th birthday.
