Hip hop has lacked true beef since the verbal exchanges delivered between G-Unit and Murder Inc. in the early 2000s. In the middle of those feuds were Queens emcees, Ja Rule and 50 Cent. For a brief period of time, both rappers shared the spotlight and their feud still impacts the hip hop game.

In the time since then, many rappers have engaged in Twitter beefs, which is how hip hop’s latest feud started. Though G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money have maintained good relations, with some even once calling them allies, tensions are high. Late last year and early this year, former G.O.O.D. act, Common, feuded with Drake.

Pusha T has been rumored to have been taking shots at Drake dating back to last summer. Tensions reached new heights when Pusha T released “Exodus 23:1,” which many assumed took shots at Drake. Lil Wayne took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the Virginia emcee and soon recorded “Goulish.”

Days later, however, Lil Wayne released the first single from I Am Not a Human Being 2, which features G.O.O.D.’s Big Sean. Lil Wayne recently spoke on the feud, which he said does not extend past Pusha T. This has proven to be a good thing, as Big Sean has collaborated with much of Young Money, including Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and Lil Wayne. Still, the question of the beef escalating remains.

DJ Capcom teamed up with Animal Steele a week ago to compile the highlights of the G.O.O.D. vs. YMCMB exchange, along with some popular songs from both camps and collaborations. A native of Michigan, DJ Capcom is quickly becoming one of the most-popular figures in the rap game. The mixtapes from DJ Capcom continue to gain popularity, as G.O.O.D. vs. YMCMB has been downloaded over 50,000 times since its June 5 release.
