Doechii to receive Billboard’s Rising Star Award

Over the past year, Doechii has been emerging has a major artist in the industry. She’s been signed to Top Dawg Entertainment, and has shown plenty of versatility throughout her records. In 2022, Doechii released singles such as “Crazy,” “B*tch I’m Nice” and “Persuasive.” Crazy also appeared on season 2 of STARZ’s hit series, “P-Valley.”

Doechii went on to release the Persuasive remix featuring TDE label mate SZA in late July, along with the visuals for it. In early August, she put out her “she/her/black b*tch” EP, which contained five tracks. Many anticipate that Doechii’s debut studio album may arrive sometime this year.

However, Doechii is also already getting recognized even further, to begin 2023. According to Chart Data, the Tampa native will be receiving the Rising Star Award, at Billboard’s 2023 Women In Music event. This will take place on March 1, in Los Angeles, as it highlights influential women in music. The event will also be hosted by “Abbott Elementary” star Quinta Brunson.

This spring, Doechii will also be performing at the annual Coachella festival, in Indio, CA. She will perform at Coachella’s opening weekend.
