Drake and The Weeknd rumored to be boycotting Grammys

This week, hundreds of artists submitted their songs, for consideration at the 2023 Grammys. This week, Nicki Minaj even had social media lit up, due to her chart-topping “Super Freaky Girl” single being switched from rap to pop considerations.

However, two superstars that were noticed to not have submitted any records for this years’ Grammys, were The Weeknd and Drake. This is reportedly due to the two deciding not to support the Grammys anymore, according to Pitchfork.

Many remember when The Weeknd bashed the Grammys in late 2020, after shockingly not being nominated for 2021, at all. At the time, Weeknd claimed that the Grammys are corrupt, and that he, his fans, and the industry deserve transparency/

The Weeknd and Drake have both each released successful projects, in 2022, that many anticipated to be submitted for 2023 Grammy consideration. These include Weeknd’s “Dawn FM,” which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind,” went on to become his seventh straight number one solo album.

As of now, Drake and The Weeknd have yet to publicly comment on not submitting any songs or albums, for this year’s Grammys.
