Drake is the most influential rapper of the past thirteen years. Not only has Drake enjoyed an unprecedented run, but he has also expanded his brand. When Drake began, he was a standout on the Young Money roster. Now, he is the CEO of OVO, in addition to his partnership with Nike.
Drake benefited mightily from Kanye West’s own relationship with Nike souring. Prior to Ye’s deal with Adidas, he designed Yeezys with Nike. When Kanye West made an attempt to get royalties, they refused him. As a result, Ye did a deal with Adidas and made billions.
Drake would only grow as a bigger artist, while Kanye West was getting into shoes. Once Drake reached ten years in the game, Nike approached him for a deal. Quietly, Drake’s own Nike shoe line is making major strides. While the brand is not yet as popular, nor as profitable as Yeezy, it is making its way there. Whatever the case, Drake and the OVO brand are doing well, courtesy of Nike.
Drake is enjoying the partnership with Nike, particularly with the growing profits. Silently, Drake is becoming one of the wealthiest moguls in rap. Now, it appears as though he is celebrating the success of the partnership. Recently, a photo of Drake’s head, has gone viral on Instagram. In the photo, Drake’s head is shown with Nike’s logo actually braided into his crown.
