E-40 gives $100000 to Grambling State University music program

E-40 is one of the rappers responsible for the Bay Area hip hop scene becoming a force. There are tons of stories about E-40 helping mainstream rappers navigate when they came to Oakland. This was before he was even well-known. It’s only right that E-40 sits courtside, while the Warriors win championships. In addition, they have made him one of the faces of their franchise. Last week, E-40 also gave back to his alma mater, donating $100,000 to Grambling State University.

E-40 spent over thirty years making music, representing Oakland. While his first recordings date back to 1986, his first album didn’t drop until 1995. After that, E-40 didn’t reach mainstream levels of success until 2006. Honestly, E-40’s career is a testament to never give up on one’s dreams. All of these years later, he is a successful force. Not only is E-40 immensely popular, he is also extremely wealthy. With his success, E-40 often gives back.

E-40 recently returned to his old stomping grounds, at Grambling State University. During his college years, he could only dream about the life that he has now. While E-40 is now enjoying the wealthy life, as a rapper, and owning several businesses, there is a new generation of young dreamers. Many of them are at Grambling State, much like he was all of those years ago. As a result, E-40 has left a $100,000 donation to the school’s music department.
