The past three years have seen Fatboy SSE go from being a local celebrity, in New Jersey, to being an Instagram celebrity, to now being a rising artist. Definitely an entertaining figure, Fatboy SSE always has people laughing. There is an essence he brings to the game.
Older hip hop fans are familiar with the energy that he brings. Looking back, Fatboy SSE, in stature and antics, is similar to Biz Markie. There was no Instagram, back then, but Biz Markie relied, heavily, on humor to market his product.
Fatboy SSE, three decades after Biz Markie came with “Just A Friend,” has come with “More Than Friends.” This record is his own rendition of the classic. However, Fatboy has flipped the topic, just a little bit, and brings the humor of the 2020 era, while bringing ’88 back, just for a while.
