Former Atlanta PD Officer Involved in Rayshard Brooks’ Death, Devin Brosnan, Released From Jail on Bond as Officer Who Shot Brooks, Garrett Rolfe, Turns Himself In For Felony Murder and 10 Other Charges

Earlier today, Devin Brosnan, one of the officers involved in killing 27-year-old black man, Rayshard Brooks at a Wendy’s in Atlanta last week, turned himself in. He was charged with aggravated assault as he has three charges in total. Brosnan also faces  three acts of violation of oath by a public officer. Brosnan also stood on Brooks’ shoulder while Garrett Rolfe, the officer who shot Brooks twice in the back, was kicking him. This all started after Wendy’s called police after finding Brooks asleep in their drive-thru, a claim of a failed sobriety test, and an altercation between the three after things were initially peaceful.

Brosnan ended up being released on $50,000 bond today as Rolfe turned himself in before the 6PM warrant deadline, per TMZ. He’s being booked for felony murder and 10 other charges. Among them are aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property in the first degree and violation of oath by public officer charges.

Brosnan’s and his lawyer ended up speaking to MSNBC on a video call. They claimed That Brosnan die tried to get Brooks a first aid kit after the shooting but other officers ended up arriving at the scene. Brosnan also made the ridiculous claim that he initially didn’t know Brooks had been shot.
