Fourth suspect in Young Dolph murder case, Jermarcus Johnson, is in custody after turning himself in to police

Fourth suspect charged in connection to targeting Young Dolph

On November 17, hip-hop mourned the 1-year anniversary of Young Dolph’s murder. This comes a week after a third suspect who was allegedly involved in targeting Dolph was arrested. This was 43-year-old Hernandez Govan, who was charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

The other two suspects are 23-year-old Justin Johnson and 32-year-old Cornelius Smith. However, a fourth suspect is also now in custody. On November 18, Jermarcus Johnson turned himself into police. He will be charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, in his arraignment. Shaundale Barnett was also arrested and released earlier this year, but is still wanted for first-degree murder.

Dolph has been celebrated all week, as his team put out his “Get Away” single. This will appear on his upcoming posthumous album, “Paper Route Frank.” Key Glock also released a new “PRE5L” EP, on November 17, in honor of Dolph.

Prior to Dolph’s death, he had been one of the biggest rappers to come out of the south, over the past decade. He saw massive success with remaining an independent artist, and starting his Paper Route Empire record label. Dolph went on to sign artists such as Key Glock and Jay Fizzle. Dolph also went on to collaborate with other stars, such as Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, T.I., Jeezy, Rick Ross, and more.
