Frank Ocean drops out of his upcoming second Coachella performance, due to recent leg injuries; Blink-182 to replace him as headliner
Frank Ocean drops out of second Coachella show after leg injury
Frank Ocean has been receiving a lot of backlash from fans since last weekend, due to his Coachella performance. That was as a result of him coming to his set late, and also cut his set short, due to a curfew in place in Indio, CA. Many fans also weren’t able to have good views of the performance due to the stage setup, and Ocean didn’t perform much, as he walked around to his songs instead.
Meanwhile, Ocean also reportedly suffered an ankle injury, prior to his Coachella performance. This was on the festival grounds, as he had to adjust his performance. An ice skating rink was also supposed to be used, but that went on to be scrapped.
In addition to Ocean’s Coachella set going wrong, he is also now pulling out of his Coachella week 2 set, according to TMZ. This is reportedly due the ankle injury he suffered, having two fractures, as well as a sprain in his left leg.
“After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity,” said Ocean’s reps to TMZ.“On doctor’s advice, Frank is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”
“It was chaotic,” Ocean added. “There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”
As a result of Ocean dropping out, Blink-182 will serve as the replacement headliner.
