George Floyd’s family considering lawsuit against Kanye West
Kanye West is currently catching a lot of heat on social media, this weekend. This was for his “Drink Champs” interview, where he spread more anti-Semitic remarks, as well as insensitive comments about the late George Floyd, who was killed by Minnesota police officers, in May 2020.
Regarding Floyd, Kanye accused him of having died of fentanyl use. He also claimed that Derek Chauvin, who had his knee on Floyd’s neck for over eight and a half minutes, didn’t have his neck on Floyd “like that.” He was trying to cite what Candace Owens said, in her new “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM,” documentary.
But, attorney Lee Merritt, is saying that a lawsuit against Kanye is being considered. He revealed this latest development, on Twitter.
“While one cannot defame the dead, the family of #GeorgeFloyd is considering suit for Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death. Claiming Floyd died from fentanyl not the brutality established criminally and civilly undermines & diminishes the Floyd family’s fight.”As of now, Kanye has yet to respond to this potential lawsuit. He unfortunately doesn’t seem to mind the backlash, either.
However, Kanye still hasn’t responded to this potential lawsuit. As a result, it seems that he unfortunately still doesn’t mind teh backlash for his comments.
