In the early hours of Wednesday morning, it was reportedly that boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested in South Florida, on a battery domestic violence charge. It was unclear what exactly happened, but he remained in custody for the night.

However, new details are emerging regarding Gervonta’s arrest. According to TMZ, he slapped a woman with a “closed hand,” which resulted in an abrasion on the inside of her upper lip. She was also hit on the right side of her head with a “closed hand type of slap.” This incident is said to have occurred in Parkland, FL, on Tuesday, at 1:25PM.

Legal documents added that Gervonta “did actually and intentionally touch and strike the woman against her will and did intentionally cause bodily harm to her.” The woman was eventually able to leave the home.

Therefore, this is all horrible timing for Gervonta overall, as he was set to return to the ring on January 7, in Washington, D.C. His opponent was Hector Luis Garcia. Gervonta stands at an undefeated 27-0. His last fight came on May of this year, vs Rolando Romero. He won that via a 6th round TKO result.

Back in February 2020, Gervonta also dragged his baby mama out of a celebrity basketball game, in the Miami area. At the time, he denied assaulting her, and claimed that he just told her they had to leave the venue. At the time, he was charged with one count of simple battery domestic violence.
