Behind the scenes, there has been a lot of friction within 1017 Brick Squad. On Twitter, back in March, Gucci Mane famously ousted Waka Flocka Flame from the crew. It appeared as if Young Scooter was groomed for his position and then he went to prison and is not getting out until next year.

Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame have patched up their relationship and Gucci has gone on to sign Chief Keef. A lot is going on at 1017 Brick Squad, but Gucci Mane still has the most-discussed crew in the game. According to his Twitter, there is even more in the works.

This fall, Gucci Mane is releasing his next album, Mr. Guwop. But, Gucci Mane is also releasing a project with Brick Squad. On Twitter, he asked fans for help in naming the album and listed Waka Flocka Flame, PeeWee Longway, Chief Keef, Young Scooter, and Young Thug as the contributors to the album.

In addition to the compilation album, Gucci Mane also has a buzzing single with Chief Keef on his hands. “Darker” was released last month and has become a viral hit. With the song picking up momentum, Gucci Mane is giving it the single treatment, with a music video in the works for the upcoming single. Gucci Mane took to his Instagram, a few days ago, to release a photo from the “Darker” music video shoot.
