Iggy Azalea defends letter sent to judge in support of Tory Lanez
On Monday, Iggy Azalea received a lot of backlash on social media, after it was revealed that she sent a “letter of support” to a judge, for Tory Lanez. Tory received over 70 of these letters, in total. That came amid Tory’s sentencing, which lingered over to Tuesday.
As a result, Iggy is now speaking on this letter, on Twitter, in her defense. She explained how she wishes Tory well, and that the letter wasn’t in “support” of anyone. Furthermore, Iggy revealed that she was surprised that her sending the letter to the judge was made public.
In regards to Tory’s length of incarceration, Iggy doesn’t want to see his “lift thrown away,” but instead, an alternative that is rehabilitative. Iggy and Tory have had previous ties, as he was set to executive produce her upcoming album. Iggy initially soared to stardom in 2014, with the breakout success of her “Fancy” single, with Charli XCX. That topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is currently 8x platinum in the US.
