Isaiah Lee hit with misdemeanor charges after attacking Dave Chappelle
A few nights ago, Dave Chappelle was suddenly tackled by a man, during his stand-up performance. This was during Netflix Is A Joke fest, at the Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles. The man was identified as 23-year-old Isaiah Lee. Lee was quickly attacked by security, as well as supposedly Busta Rhymes and Jamie Foxx. Lee also had a replica gun, with a knife attached to the barrel.
Lee was visibly injured, while being put into an ambulance. It appeared that his arm was severely injured, and out of place. Today, TMZ reported that Lee won’t face any felonies, but there has now been more charges, handed down.
TMZ now has revealed that the L.A. City Attorney has charged Lee with battery, possession of a weapon with intent to assault, unauthorized access to the stage area during a performance, and commission of an act that delays the event or interferes with the performer. These are all classified as misdemeanors. This came after the LA County D.A.’s Office made the decision to let the City Attorney handle the charges.
Lee is also unlikely to actually face a lot of jail time. If convicted though, he could have a max sentence of 18 months in a county jail, and/or a $4,000 fine.
