West Coast hip hop did exist before Dr. Dre, but the classic G-funk era may have never taken place without him. Matter of fact, Dr. Dre said it best himself, “when your record sales weren’t doing too good, who’s the doctor they told you to go see?” His impact on the game will never be forgotten.
Musically, Dr. Dre is a genius, but many did not consider him a factor when it came to the battle of the fortunes. That’s fine by Dr. Dre, but he still became a factor, surpassing almost everyone on the list. Each year, his name jumped two or three places up to number two recently.
Tyrese broke the news on his Instagram that Dr. Dre will be number one when the next list comes out. Dr. Dre has done everything a hip hop artist can do and he has now added billionaire to the list. Apple has completed their purchase of Beats for $3.2 BILLION, making Dr. Dre hip hop’s first billionaire.
