Jay-Z and Beyonce are couple goals, in the eyes of most, and a billionaire couple. As a result, their lives are captivating to others. Also, they seemingly intentionally add a bit of mystery to the every day things that they do. Not only are they both music icons, but they are also business tycoons. So it’s not expected of them to do the regular social media stuff. However, Beyonce’s always maintained an Instagram presence, while Jay rarely does. Yesterday, both returned to the platform, however.

Jay-Z took many steps to separate himself from the regular rap game, after 2009. The year prior, Jay bought himself out of his Def Jam contract. In addition, he stepped down as the head of the label. This was due to a deal he was working on with Live Nation. As he was ending his Def Jam tenure, he had plans of building a new company. This company, Roc Nation, became home to many of the former members of the Def Jam staff. Now, the company is worth over $100 million.

Jay-Z is almost never on social media and he dominated the internet, a decade ago, when he got on Twitter for a day. Since then, he has focused back in on his business moves. In 2017, he took a pause and released his 4:44 album. After that, Jay has shown up on DJ Khaled albums, but stayed in the background handing business. Recently, he returned to Instagram, alongside Beyonce. Now that they’re back, they only follow each other.
