Before he returned with a new single, Justin Timberlake led a strong promotional campaign that began in the final weeks of 2012. All of this promotion was for the official release of “Suit & Tie.” Featuring a collaboration with Jay-Z, the song became the first major hit of the year.
“Suit & Tie” helped to place the attention back onto Jay-Z, who is rumored to be working on a new solo album. When fans last heard music from Jay-Z, it was off Watch the Throne, his collaboration album with Kanye West. There are several new producers in the game who have risen since Jay-Z last dropped a solo project.
Ever since the days of “Big Pimpin’,” Jay-Z has always had Timbaland to count on. In recent years, Timbaland has been out of the spotlight. Much like Jay-Z, Timbaland is in the midst of his own comeback. Recently, Jay-Z and Timbaland hit the studio with current hitmaker, Mike WiLL Made It.
