JayDaYoungan’s father says men with guns ambushed them
Earlier this week, JayDaYoungan was shot and killed in his hometown of Bogalusa, Louisiana. Jay reportedly went on to be airlifted to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. JayDaYoungan’s father was also shot, but recovered.
JayDaYoungan’s grandfather recently said that men with guns came and fired shots, in broad daylight, on a busy street. Now, his father, Kenyatta Scott, is speaking out about the incident.
Scott tells TMZ that five gunmen approached their home, while the two were relaxing in their front yard together. He stated that three people came out of a black truck, with guns. Soon, two more men arrived from the side of the house, when he and Jay tried to run back into the house.
Scott said he and JayDaYoungan fired shots back, but he was shot twice. Jay was hit eight times. Scott went on to say that he believes jealousy was a motive, and he didn’t have issues with anyone. JayDaYoungan supposedly didn’t know the gunmen, either.
Jay had been one of the hottest artists in Louisiana, at the age of 24. His last project was his “All Is Well” EP, which was released in March.
