Jimmy Butler accuses Bucks of tampering landing Damian Lillard
Jimmy Butler was surprised to learn of the Milwaukee Bucks acquiring Damian Lillard, much like the rest of the sports world. Throughout the summer, most NBA gossip had Lillard heading to the Miami Heat, which was his preferred destination. However, the Bucks do have Giannis, and the fans predict a solid duo will be formed. Since 2020, the Heat and Bucks have had a bitter rivalry. As a result, Jimmy hinted that the Bucks tampered in order to acquire Damian Lillard.
Jimmy Butler has upset the first seed Milwaukee Bucks in both of his NBA Finals runs. In 2019, Jimmy signed with the Miami Heat in free agency. His debut season in Miami saw the lockdown and then the bubble happen. In the bubble, the Heat ended up dramatically improving their play. As a result, they upset Giannis’ Bucks, who owned the NBA’s best record. In 2023, the Heat did the same, earning the eighth seed, but knocking the first seed Bucks off in five games.
Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat have faced the Milwaukee Bucks in three of the past four seasons. In each of their faceoffs, the winner of the Heat-Bucks series ends up being the team to reach the NBA Finals. Two of the three matchups saw the Heat win the series. However, the lone time the Bucks won, they won the championship. With Damian Lillard on their roster, the Bucks hope to win another title. In response to the trade, Jimmy said the NBA may want to look into the Bucks for tampering.
