Jordan Poole makes incredible game winner vs Grizzlies
Jordan Poole was the unsung hero for the Golden State Warriors, in 2022. Poole was among the younger crop of players that joined the Warriors in 2019, after Kevin Durant left. The 2019-2020 season was odd for Golden State. Not only did KD leave in free agency, but also Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson missed most of the season with injuries. As a result, the Warriors were the NBA’s worst team. However, this gave Poole much playing time and they traded for Andrew Wiggins. This fueled the 2022 title. Last night, Poople’s game winning layup vs. Memphis gave the Warriors hope.
Jordan Poole stepped up, tremendously, for the Warriors in 2022. Last season, Golden State began the season as the NBA’s best team. Much of this was due to the chemistry built between Jordan Poole and Stephen Curry. When Klay Thompson returned, the Warriors had to adjust. As a result, they lost games. After that, Draymond went down with injuries. Once he got healthy, Steph went down. This led to Poole playing Steph’s role, and GSW built chemistry headed into the playoffs.
Jordan Poole put the Memphis Grizzlies on notice in Game 1, last season. What was a grueling six game series birthed a rivalry. Heading into last night’s game, their season series was tied 1-1. After losing Curry to an ejection, it looked like Memphis had another win. However, the Warriors kept making plays. At the very end of the game, a hole in Memphis’ defense allowed Poole to slide in with the clutch layup that sealed the win.
