Production company sues Kanye West for $7.1 million
Kanye West has been hit with several lawsuits, over the past few weeks. At the beginning of July, a fashion rental company filed a $400,000 lawsuit. This was due to Kanye not returning designer items that he rented and stopped paying for, since 2020. That company is the David Casavant Archive, as they had a solid business relationship with Kanye, since 2014.
Now, a production company is also taking action against Kanye. According to TMZ, Phantom Labs claims that Kanye owes them $7.1 million.
Kanye and Phantom worked on events from June 2021 to March 2022. These included concerts such as four weeks of Sunday Service, Ye’s listening event for “Donda 2,” his “Free Larry Hoover” concert with Drake, along with his canceled 2022 Coachella performance.
Attorney Howard King added that Kanye and his team were making payments, but that stopped in February. The total bill at the time, topped $6 million. They claim that Kanye told them that he’d pay them, after making $9 million at Coachella. Obviously, Ye went on to suddenly cancel that performance. For Phantom, they also want Kanye to take care of the $1.1 million in Coachella cancelation fees.
Kanye has yet to publicly speak on these two lawsuits filed, this month. This will likely stay that way, as Ye has been working on other endeavors. This includes appearing on Cardi B’s new “Hot Sh*t” single, with Lil Durk.
