Kanye West is officially no longer a billionaire, after adidas and other brands end partnerships with him

Kanye West loses billionaire status after brands cut partnerships off

On Tuesday, news broke that adidas officially cut ties, regarding their partnership with Kanye West. This comes in the aftermath of Kanye making anti-Semitic comments on social media, as well as on “Drink Champs.” Balenciaga also ended their relationship with Ye, a week ago.

Now, Kanye’s billionaire status has also ended, according to Forbes. This is due to adidas cutting him off, as well as losing another endorsement deals, such as the Balenciaga collaboration.

A huge factor was Ye losing Gap, as he was publicly asking for that deal to end, which he initially signed in the summer of 2020, for 10 years. Forbes also reports that Gap was a significant portion of his latest net worth.

Kanye officially became a billionaire, back in April 2020. At the time, his net worth was at $1.3 billion. That came despite Ye claiming that that estimate was much lower than reported. Now, Forbes is estimating that he is now worth in the range of $400 million. What factors into the $400 million now, are real estate, liquid cash, music catalog and a less than 5% stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s Skims brand. Kanye arrogantly stated that adidas wouldn’t drop him, but ultimately did.
