Three weeks ago, Keisha Lance-Bottoms won an extremely close race in the Atlanta mayoral election. With her win, she will succeed current mayor, Kasim Reed. However, she had a very tough race, which was closer than expected.
The mayoral elections of Atlanta are nonpartisan, but Lance-Bottoms identifies as a Democrat. With that, she received endorsements from the Atlanta celebrity scene. She had endorsements from Kandi Burruss and Migos, among many others.
This week saw Keisha Lance-Bottoms certified as the mayor-elect of the city. However, her opponent, Mary Norwood, had yet to concede the election. Tonight, though, Mary Norwood has decided to concede to mayor-elect Lance-Bottoms.
