Expectations for Kendrick Lamar, the second time around, were all over the place. With good kid, m.A.A.d. city, Kendrick Lamar set the bar very high and fans wanted him to return quickly. Instead, Kendrick Lamar made fans wait three years.
Kendrick Lamar delivered To Pimp A Butterfly rather abruptly. After releasing music, here and there, early in 2015, Kendrick Lamar revealed a late March release date. Hours after revealing the release date and the title, Kendrick Lamar released the entire album.
Yesterday, Kendrick Lamar made history with To Pimp A Butterfly being the most-streamed album in Spotify history. Once again, Kendrick Lamar is setting the bar high. So, fittingly, he’d be the one to top it, breaking his own record.
