Over a week ago, Kendrick Lamar released his fifth studio album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” This was Kendrick’s first album since April 2017, with “DAMN.” Prior to Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ releases, Kendrick put out his “The Heart Part 5” single, which went viral for its music video, and Kendrick’s impressive storytelling.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was expected to be another number one album for Kendrick, and that is officially the case. According to Chart Data, it has now debuted at number one, on the Billboard 200 chart.

In its first week, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers sold 295,000 units, in its first week. 343.02 million on demand streams were also totaled. This latest album by Kendrick also has the biggest first week sales, for an album released in 2022. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is also Kendrick’s fourth straight number one album. This project contained 18 tracks as a double album, with appearances from Kodak Black, Summer Walker, Blxst, Ghostface Killah, Taylour Paige, and more.

The second album on the Billboard 200 this week, is Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” with 182,000 units. The third spot is occupied by Future’s “I Never Liked You,” with 89,500 units.
