Kendrick Lamar’s “Euphoria” earns biggest streaming day for a hip-hop song on Spotify in 2024

Kendrick Lamar’s “Euphoria” sets Spotify daily streaming record

Earlier this week, Kendrick Lamar had social media in a frenzy, as he responded to Drake’s two diss tracks. This was with “Euphoria,” as it’s already being regarded as one of the best diss songs in hip-hop history. Moreover, it was even surprisingly played at the start of the Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers halftime show on NBA On TNT, on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Kendrick’s Euphoria record is already setting massive streaming records. According to Chart Data it is now number one on the US Spotify chart with 5.480 million streams, which is up 321% in its first full day. As a result, Euphoria now has the biggest streaming day of 2024 on Spotify.

Prior to Kendrick Lamar’s Euphoria being released, Drake dropped two diss tracks, which were “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” On Push Ups, Drake also called out The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and Metro Boomin. On Taylor Made Freestyle, Drake surprisingly used AI verses from 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. However, 2Pac’s estate issued Drake a cease & desist, to get him to remove the song online, as he soon did.

Kendrick initially dissed Drake during his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping “Like That.” J. Cole was also dissed, but Cole quickly backed out of the beef. That was done by apologizing during his Dreamville Festival performance, and by removing “7 Minute Drill” from streaming platforms.
