Kendrick Lamar’s “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” sets Apple Music record

On Friday, Kendrick Lamar finally released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” This came five days after putting out his viral “The Heart Part 5” single, and music video. This album is also Kendrick’s first album since “Damn,” way back in April 2017.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers went on to be a double album, as it contained 18 tracks in total. Kendrick collaborated with Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Blxst, Taylour Paige and more. Songs such as “We Cry Together,” “N95,” and “United In Grief,” and “Auntie Diaries” have received high praise from fans, so far.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is expected to become the number one album in the US, and Kendrick’s third straight number one. So far, it has already achieved a new first-day streaming milestone. According to Chart Data, the album earned the most first day streams for any album released in 2022 on Apple Music.

Kendrick did extremely well on Apple Music, with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. An hour into its release, it crashed the streaming platform, which resulted in it temporarily being removed. This resulted in frustration from a lot of fans, but it was back on Apple Music shortly.
