Kendrick Lamar has had a very great night for himself, at the 2023 Grammys. He’s already won two in his hometown of Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena tonight, as those were for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. These two Grammy wins were for Kendrick’s “The Heart Part 5” single.

However, Kendrick has just scored his third Grammy win of the night. This is for Best Rap Album, as his “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” album took home the win. Kendrick won this over DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” Jack Harlow’s “Come Home The Kids Miss You,” Future’s “I Never Liked You” and Pusha T’s “It’s Almost Dry.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was released last May, as it was Kendrick’s first album since April 2017’s “DAMN.” Therefore, it was also a double album, with Kendrick collaborating with Summer Walker, Kodak Black, Ghostface Killah, and more. As a result, it became Kendrick’s third straight number one album.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was also his last album on Top Dawg Entertainment, as he has since launched his PgLang record label. One of the earliest successes there, was signing Kendrick’s cousin, Baby Keem, who had a top five US debut with his 2021 “The Melodic Blue” album.
